History:
His original owner felt that she didn’t have the time to give to Conan. He is a playful energetic pup that likes to bounce around and have fun with you and your dog.
Conan has had a hard lot in life, so far. His family didn’t want him, please don’t tell him. This boy loves attention and being active, his family did not give this to him.
At a regular shelter, his fate might not have been any better. So we took him, hoping there might be somebody out there who’d want to hug a big pup like this. He just loves everyone – is there someone who might finally love him, too?
General Description:
Conan is a 1 year old male Dane with a handsome face and natural ears. He is a Merle . I welcomed him into our home a week ago(2/26/10). He has bonded with me quickly. He has spunk most of the day, though does mellow out at after a good bike ride or run.
He’s the kind of dog who feels like a real companion when you go out for a walk. He keeps up with you – he wants to keep going – he keeps dancing in appreciation.
He is house broken. He knows his basic commands, sit, lay down, down and stay. Conan is a fast learner, he learned to use the doggy door in one day.
Conan is a big lover. He loves a lot of loving attention from his humans. He loves to cuddle and will put his head in your lap so you can pet his belly.
Conan will be with you or the other dog in the house all the time which is a Dane trait. He is a playful pup, and a joy to have around.
He likes to take his dog beds, run around the house with them, shaking them in his mouth, and putting them in the perfect place. We are working on doing this a bit mellower so the dog beds last a while.
He gets along with and plays with dogs of all sizes. He needs an introduction to new dogs you are bringing in your house, does fine after that. Not a dog park dog yet…we are working on that..check out his website for updates on his progress.
He loves going on walks; for rides in the truck, and playing with you. He also loves playing with other dogs, he does play rough, but in control.
Conan will bark at strangers who come to the front door, but once in the house and introduced, he does fine.
Conan is a big loveable pup with a heart of gold and will make you a great companion.
If you are a strong leader and can continue with his training, you will have adopted a fantastic, loveable, good natured pup.
